Jackie Connolly
has lived on the Northside of Cork all her life and is living in Gurranabraher
for the last 20 years.
She is married to Ed and they have five school-going children, aged from 18 years down to 4 years.
Jackie is a Republican Socialist and has been a community activist and representative for many years. She has helped
people with issues such as Social Welfare, Housing, Traffic Calming etc.
The issues on which Jackie is fighting
include
• Writing to the city council to release houses to possible tenants
by means of a new tenant signing agreement. Tenants should be allowed paint the inside of the home, do minor works to the
house, leave fitted kitchens etc.
• Meeting with city official to discuss ways to introduce the position
of a senior citizen housing officer to deal with all elderly tenants issues (rather than being passed from one department
to another)
• She attends community watch meetings and quarterly forums with
the Council, Garda and residents to address Anti-Social Behaviour.
• Chair of the Gurranabraher Residents Association.
