THE WORKERS' PARTY OF IRELAND

Lucan WP Branch to protest against the cuts

FINE GAEL & LABOUR HAVE NO MORAL AUTHORITY TO IMPOSE CUTS

The Lucan branch of The Workers’ Party has organised a poster demonstration in Lucan Village at 11am on Friday next, September 21st. The demonstration is to highlight and protest against the on-going cuts on the most vulnerable – the most recent being to care programmes for the elderly and disabled. What many find particularly unacceptable is that these cuts are planned and enforced by highly paid TDs and Ministers who are also in receipt of generous allowances furthermore they are backed by a team of super-salaried advisers. Principled leadership demands that these inflated salaries and allowances first be greatly reduced before targeting those who are among the weakest sections of society.
